| I'm going to tell you about some strange events that even I wouldn't believe if I hadn't seen them with my own eyes. Through I've had ESP all of my life, this is my first experience with happenings that I actually cannot explain in any rational way. My mom always told me that everything has a logical explanation, but right now I'll be damned if I know what that is. My cat, Onyx, was acting so strange that night. We were sitting in the living room of the apartment I share with my twin brother. Suddenly she leapt up onto arm of the couch, wild-eyed. Her eyes were following some unseen creature just behind me, and watching her was giving me major chills. When her gaze traveled directly to my brother's room, I knew in my gut that something was not right, considering all of the strange events that had been surrounding us lately. I turned and quickly scanned the living room. Nothing. I felt we had an almost psychic bond, so I knew she had seen something. As she cried out with a pathetic sound that was nearly human, I tried to comfort her, but she looked at me with her ears bent flat against her head and continued to wail. Then she climbed up on the back of the couch and sank her teeth into the side of my hair where it was gathered back into a ponytail, and she wouldnt let go. Her fur stuck straight out from her body. "Onyx. Whats the matter? Youre scaring me." Could my prescious cat have rabies? Finally she let go of my hair and scurried toward my brothers bedroom, looking at me like she wanted me to follow. She crouched down low and slinked toward the doorway to my twin brothers room, all the while making a low, hissing sound. James was sitting in his old-fashioned wing-backed chair, staring at his 3-D poster. It was a total waste of time as far as I was concerned, but he seemed to have found a whole other world in there. What I saw next made me wonder about my own sanity. A hazy figure the size of a person emerged from the poster and hovered in front of it. It had a human form, but it looked like a clear husk with thousands of electrical impulses shooting around inside of it. For a moment I stood there and stared, trying to make some sense of what I saw. I was sure it was a monster. Slowly, the creature extended a tentative hand to touch my brother. "James!" I cried out. As he turned to look, the thing lunged toward me. |
